site development

I am going to merge the linkdirectories and drop the ‘relations’ subdirectory, Google perceive subdomains and subdirectories both as subdirectories so running a double linkdirectory only causes problems in ranking.

On the serp subdomain I am developing a new concept site.  The script is designed to explore search niches and accumulate data on the top sites over an entire niche based on the most popular searches in the niche, the top traffic searches.

I developed a single niche version and run a test on a free host. To maintain data on a large amount of domains I use services and the services that do not offer an API have standard quota per IP. On shared hosting, I can use this IP’s quotum but that means others on the same IP get a service denial. If other scripts use services, I also get less of the quota.

Distributing the sites workload on a network and having the scripts communicate with xml-rpc means I can drop the quotum use to max 20% per IP per day (regular 1%), and maintain 1200 to 3000 records per install. That offers for me the highest stability and the fastest update speed, and it gives me two dozen PR2 niche blogs with the domain list as ‘link directory’. If it works out it might become an interesting script.
