trends watch

The trends watch subdomain is a script test that got a bit out of hand. The first version was a quick demo of how to grab the google trends atom feed and make some pages with a search engine friendly url.

Then I added

  • mysql backend
  • sitemap
  • tagpages
  • rss
  • trackbacks

some stuff from

  • blogsearch
  • twitter
  • youtube
  • flickr

and other datasources, and the obligatory jQuery ajax votes and stuff.

I had not written an actual script for six years, this is my first site-script in php. It’s fun stuffing it together, mostly basic coding (I am a ‘kiss’ fan, keep it simple, stupid). If I can clean out the codesty and make some admin-pages I’ll try and put up a new download in may.
